Sunday Service is where we gather together for worship and receive Bible teaching. It's the place where we're reminded of what's true, and where we're spurred on to live out what we believe the other six days of the week. It is also where we can invite friends to hear the simple truth about who Jesus is and what He's done for them.
We know that going to a church for the first time can be an intimidating experience, full of questions like "What is going to happen?" "Will I be dressed right?" "What will the worship be like?" "Will there be people there like me?" We don't want you to be unsure about trying out Vine Church, so here's what you will want to know.
There's no need to dress up; feel free to come in casual clothes. As you pull into the parking lot, there will be a volunteer to direct you into the closest parking spot. When you walk in, people will greet you and be friendly but not invade your space. Free coffee and tea are available in the Coffee House, as well as donuts and bagels before the 9am and after the 11am services. You are welcome to bring your food and drinks into the auditorium.
We also have an excellent kids program with trusted and trained workers where your children can learn about Jesus in an age appropriate way and in a safe and exciting environment. We are open to receiving your kids 20 minutes prior to each service, and you can go to the Welcome Center in our Lobby to find out where they should go. Visit the Kids & Youth page.
We start our services with worship by singing songs to God. The worship music is current, ranging from modern hymns to gospel songs. Some respond naturally to God's presence by raising hands, kneeling, clapping, or crying. We just want you to worship in a manner that's real; for us at the Vine, this means low-key, non-hype, heartfelt responses to the Living God. We also set aside time during our services for those who would like to give tithes and offerings. If you are visiting there is absolutely no obligation to give.
After announcements, one of our pastors will teach from the English Standard Version of the Bible (if you don't own a Bible, we give them away free at the Welcome Center). Because we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, we teach from a biblical text rather than teaching our own opinion. We aim to teach the Bible in a way that is clear and understandable to all, regardless of church experience, and also in a way that challenges us to put it into practice.
As the last worship song plays at the conclusion of each service, those who want prayer will be invited forward and someone from our prayer team will pray for you. Nobody will pressure you to go forward to receive prayer, but the opportunity is there if you have things you'd like God's help with.
The service lasts for an hour and 20 minutes; we start on time and end on time, so you can make plans for the rest of your day. Please feel free to hangout and meet people. We would definitely like to meet you! For parents, please pick up your kids within 20 minutes of the service ending.
