Vine Youth Security Policies and Procedures
Vine Youth (Grades 6-12) desires to create a safe, secure, and loving environment where our students and parents feel protected and comfortable.
Security
The North Building locks at a designated time after the service begins.
There is a security keypad in the North Building Soundbooth to alert the security team in the event of needed assistance.
The security team members observe and watch our students throughout weekend services.
Emergency protocols are in place in the event of weather, fire, or a threat. If any suspicious activity is detected, Vine Youth Leaders will alert the security team or Youth Leader.
Child Abuse Protection Policy
All of Vine Youth Volunteers and Leaders are mandated reporters. If any of our leaders or volunteers suspect that a child is a victim of abuse, they may either call DCFS 1-800-25-ABUSE, or contact Josh Franklin who will make the call to DCFS.
We notify all of our volunteers that the following must be reported.
Physical Abuse, Sexual Abuse, Neglect, Emotional Abuse (Maltreatment)
Our volunteers make sure the students know that they are mandated reporters and will not be able to keep secrets if they deem action is needed.
This is where communicating to the Staff Pastor in charge can be used prior to making the call to DCFS
Volunteers are not to “lead the students” to a confession or pull out information. This may lead to disqualifying the report with DCFS.
If a volunteer calls DCFS they are asked to inform the Staff Pastor/Youth Leader so as to help provide assistance as a follow up.
